Ahead of IPL 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore have filled all the vacant overseas spots available in the squad as they have completed the signing of George Garton for remainder of IPL 2021. It must be noted that Garton comes in as replacement of Kane Richardson and becomes RCB's fourth new overseas addition after Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chemeera and Tim David.

The franchise made the announcement on Twitter where they stated, "Talented all-rounder from England, George Garton, will join the RCB family for the rest of #IPL2021. He completes our overseas players quota for the season."

It must be noted that the English all-rounder went unsold in IPL 2021 auctions where he was available at a base price of INR 20 Lakh. Having made his debut in 2016, Garton has played 37 T20s and was also a part of Southern Brave squad which lifted the inaugural title of 'The Hundred'.

George Garton will be the player to watch out for in UAE

Although the 24-year-old has been selected in the squad as a back-up in case of any injuries, George Garton has certainly proven that he could be a valuable player especially in the T20 format. The all-rounder has played 38 T20 matches where he has managed to scalp 44 wickets at a scintillating average of 20.06. An economy rate of 8.26 is also something that is quite praise-worthy for someone who bowls difficult overs for his side.

Talking about his batting, Garton has a strike rate of 124.66, with an average of 20.77 which is fairly decent for a lower order batsman in this format. In the recently-concluded 'The Hundred', the Englishman took 10 wickets in 9 matches and had a fairly decent economy rate of 8.90.

RCB complete their quota of 8 overseas players

Royal Challengers Bangalore have certainly reacted very quickly to the present situation with so many of their players pulling out of remainder of the season. However, the franchise have now ensured that they have filled in all the overseas slots with their latest recruitment on Wednesday.

Eight overseas players for RCB for second phase of IPL 2021 will be as follows: Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Daniel Christian, Kyle Jamieson, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chemeera, Tim David and George Garton.
