Kuwait will lock horns against Nepal in the SAFF Championship opening match on Wednesday afternoon at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Kuwait haven’t lost a game since their game against Qatar in the Gulf Cup in January, where they lost 2-0. They have a solid attack in the form of attacking midfielder Ahmad Al-Dhefiri and centre forward Shabaib Al-Khaldi. This duo can pose a threat to the Nepal defenders. Kuwait are undefeated against Nepal and that will prove beneficial to them.

Talking about Nepal, they are coming from a 1-0 defeat against the Philippines in a friendly game which took place last week. They will look to put this defeat behind them and start the new tournament with a fresh approach. They have an experienced keeper-captain in the form of Kiran Chemjong who will be desperate to win the title after being runner ups in the previous edition.
