The 17th edition of IPL in 2024 will see players like Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant returning to their franchises while MS Dhoni who was the captain of CSK in the inaugural IPL edition will continue to lead the Chennai franchise in the 2024 edition also. Here in this article, we will have a look at the salaries of all 10 captains in IPL 2024. 1. KL Rahul - close to 100 crore - LSG KL Rahul was bought by LSG for a whooping price of INR 17 crore in their initial draft ahead of IPL 2022 auctions. He has been the highest-paid player among all captains in IPL 2024 edition. KL Rahul in the last three seasons in total has been getting 17 crores. In the 2018 mega auction, he was picked by Punjab Kings for a huge price of 11 crores in the auction. Rahul was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a price of INR 1 crore in the 2014 IPL auction and he was transferred to RCB in IPL 2016. Hardik Pandya - Around INR 90 crore - MI The all-rounder who led Gujarat Titans to an IPL title glory in 2022 and finals in the 2023 season got traded to Mumbai Indians for a huge price of INR 15 crore in the IPL 2024 season. Hardik Pandya who was last seen playing against Bangladesh in the 2023 WC will be seen on the cricket field after a long period in IPL 2024. Hardik Pandya was bought for the price of just INR 10 lakh in the 2015 IPL auction. In 2018, before the mega auction, he was retained for a price of 11 crores by Mumbai Indians. Sanju Samson - INR 91 crore - RR The top-order wicket-keeper batsman from Kerala was retained by Rajasthan Royals for a price of INR 14 crore ahead of the mega auctions which happened in 2022. Sanju Samson was bought for a huge price of INR 8 crore in the IPL 2018 mega auction by Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson was bought by Delhi Capitals for 4.2 crores in the IPL 2016 auction by Delhi Daredevils. Ahead of IPL 2014 season he was retained by Rajasthan Royals for a price of INR 4 crore. Shreyas Iyer - Around INR 61 crore - KKR Shreyas Iyer was bought by the KKR franchise for a huge price of INR 12.25 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auctions. He missed out on playing the entire IPL 2023 unfortunately due to injury, hence he will be seen making a comeback on the field in IPL 2024. Shreyas Iyer was bought by Delhi Capitals for INR 2.6 crore in the IPL 2015 auction and ahead of the 2018 IPL mega auctions he was retained for a price of INR 7 crore by the Delhi franchise. MS Dhoni - INR 188.84 crore - CSK CSK skipper MS Dhoni reduced his salary ahead of IPL 2022 as the management retained him at a lower price of INR 12 crore before the mega auctions, while his teammate Ravindra Jadeja was retained for 16 crore. MS Dhoni's price from 2014 to 2017 IPL was INR 12.5 crore, and his price was INR 15 crore from 2018 to 2022 edition. Dhoni in the initial days of IPL from 2008 to 2010 earned INR 6 crore and from 2011 to 2013 he earned a total of INR 8.28 crore per season. Shikhar Dhawan - Around INR 89 crore - PBKS Shikhar Dhawan was bought by PBKS for a price of INR 8.25 crore in IPL 2022 mega auctions. Dhawan was appointed as captain of the franchise in the 2023 edition and he is expected to lead the side for one last time in IPL 2024. Shikhar Dhawan earlier in the IPL 2018 auction was bought by INR 5.2 crore by SRH through RTM and later in 2019, he was traded to the Delhi Capitals team. From 2014 to 2017, Dhawan while playing for SRH received a total of INR 12.5 crore for each IPL season. Shubman Gill - INR 31.8 crore - GT Shubman Gill has been appointed as captain of GT for the IPL 2024 edition in the absence of their regular skipper Hardik Pandya. Gill was picked by Gujarat Titans in the basic draft for a price of INR 8 crore ahead of mega auctions which happened in IPL 2022. Shubman Gill earlier in the 2018 IPL mega auction was bought for a price of INR 1.8 crore. Shubman Gill on total has earned a total of INR 31.8 crore from auctions alone in his IPL career so far. #PAGE_BREAK#8. Faf du Plessis - Around INR 50 crore - RCB Faf du Plessis in the IPL 2022 mega auctions was picked by RCB for a price of INR 7 crore. Virat Kohli announced that he will step down from captaincy after the IPL 2021 season, thus Faf du Plessis was appointed as captain of RCB since the 2022 IPL season. Faf du Plessis was bought by CSK for a price of just INR 1.8 crore in the IPL 2018 mega auctions. Earlier in the 2016 auction he was taken by RPS as a draft player for just INR 4.75 crore and in the 2017 IPL season, he was retained for just INR 4 crore. David Warner - Around INR 100 crore - DC David Warner who is expected to lead Delhi Capitals in case Rishabh Pant isn't fully fit, was bought by them in the IPL 2022 mega auctions for a price of INR 6.25 crore. Earlier Warner was retained for a huge price of INR 12 crore by SRH ahead of IPL 2018 mega auctions by them. Warner was bought for a huge price of INR 5.5 crore in the IPL 2014 auction earlier. Warner in the 2011 mega auction was bought by Delhi Capitals for a huge price of $7,50,000 which would be above INR 3.75 to INR 4 crore in Indian rupees. Aiden Markram - INR 9.3 crore - SRH Aiden Markram was picked by SRH for a price of INR 2.6 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auctions and later he was appointed as captain of SRH in the 2023 IPL edition. Markram has won two SA20 titles as skipper in 2023 & 2024. Aiden Markram was signed as a replacement for Dawid Malan for INR 1.5 crores in the IPL 2021 auction. Overall he has earned a total of INR 9.3 crore in IPL auctions from four seasons.
