The F1 race weekend is here and we’ll see the drivers take over the Silverstone this Sunday. While all drivers will take on the Silverstone in their respective cars, Sebastian Vettel will take the iconic Williams of Nigel Mansell.

There is no doubt that the 34-year-old relishes F1 history. It won’t be much surprise that we’ll see Sebastian Vettel in this iconic car that he bought in 2020. However, the price of Nigel Mansell’s car in unknown, there are just six FW14Bs in total. Out of these six, one was sold for a sum of $3.1 million.

The German driver will run the FW14B on Sunday with the iconic red colored number 5 at the Silverstone. Sebastian Vettel will also be seen sporting a special helmet celebrating 30th anniversary of Nigel Mansell’s 1992 F1 championship and memorable win at Silverstone.

Designed by the legendary Adrian Newey, the car boosts of active suspension, superior traction control and a semi-automated gearbox. It was this car that helped Mansell end his long awaiting World Championship in 1992. In this FW14B, Mansell won 10 races out of the 16, clinching pole positions in 15 of them.

The Aston Martin driver also revealed that the car is no different than what it was 30 years ago. Ahead of his race at the Silverstone, Vettel is excited to take on this car. “It’s my car, I bought the car some years ago - I think four years ago. Because the red five is the car from ‘92 with the red five on it. That means a bit more than just the car from 30 years ago”, said Sebastian Vettel.

Talking about the F1 season this year, Red Bull racing’s duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are leading the Driver’s Standing with 175 and 129 points, respectively. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc stands third with 126 points, followed by George Russell (111 points). The German driver is 14th in the Driver’s Standing with 13 points.
