India’s star batter Virat Kohli has hit the road high straightaway in 2023 as the batter has scored two centuries in three innings he has played so far. In the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli has registered scores of 113, 9, and 166* in the three games respectively. While Kohli got a couple of reprieves before reaching the three-figure-mark in the first ODI, the 34-year-old played a close-to-perfect inning in the third match.
Kohli first got to his half-century in 48 balls. The batter then raced away to his 46th ODI hundred in 85 balls. The star batter then brought out the big hits from his wide range of shots to accumulate 66 runs off the last 25 balls he played. Eventually, Kohli finished with an unbeaten 166 against his name off just 110 balls.
The 34-year-old received praise from all corners for his stupendous knock. Kohli’s biggest cheerer and his wife Anushka Sharma also reacted to this majestic knock from the batter. Sharma shared an adorable Instagram story with Kohli’s snapshot from the game. “What a guy. Shabaaash, what an inning played,” wrote Anushka in the caption.
Notably, on the back of Kohli’s daddy hundred and Shubman Gill’s second ODI century, India scored a massive 390/5 in their designated 50 overs.
