Days after getting into the headlines regarding recent domestic violence arrest, sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson on late Tuesday night issued a public apology to her boyfriend and partner Christian Coleman. The partners both on and off the track were in the limelight following Richardson’s arrest in a domestic violence incident last month.

The 25-year-old American sprinter, who won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, was arrested on July 27 at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for allegedly shoving her boyfriend. However, Coleman did not press any charges, and stated that Richardson should not have been arrested after competing at the US Championships in Eugene.

However, Richardson was released, on Monday night, she posted a video where she exclaimed that she put herself in “compromised situation”. Although, only hours later, she took to Instagram, sharing a story while issuing a public apology for Coleman, hoping that her apology “should be as loud” as her actions.

Sha’Carri Richardson responded to the matter, writing, “I apologize to Christian. He came into my life and gave me more than a relationship but a greater understanding of unconditional love from what I’ve experienced in my past. Due to my past trauma and pain, I was blind and blocked off to not only receive it but give it. I love him and to him I can’t apologize enough.”

It is to be noted that the track and field athlete pair have spoken of their relationship several times. Ahead of the Golden Grand Prix 2025, Christian Coleman opened up on his relationship with Sha’Carri stating, “I feel as if like we just are both finding our way and finding our balance."

"We're in the same training group, and I think that we don't look at it as any different [because we're in a relationship]. Everybody within our training group just kind of treats us as teammates and, you know, we just support each other, trying to feed off each other," Coleman added.
