A fresh report from PTI has claimed that Shahbaz Ahmed will replace Hardik Pandya in the India squad for the South Africa series. Hardik, who is a vital member of the Indian team which will travel to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022, has been rested for these 3 T20Is.
Meanwhile, there were a few other changes that have been made by the team. While it is being learnt that Mohammed Shami has not been able to recover fully from COVID-19 and Umesh Yadav will remain with the team as his replacement, Deepak Hooda will not be part of this series with back spams. As a result, Shreyas Iyer will be part of the side.
