Pakistan cricket team has been dealt with a major blow as their star pacer Shaheen Afridi has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to an injury. The left-arm pacer has been a vital cog in Pakistan’s bowling lineup as he has been among the wickets almost every time. It was Afridi who completely blew away the Indian top order during his team’s game against arch-rivals India at the 2021 T20 World Cup.
The left-arm quick dismissed Rohit Sharma for a duck with a beautiful delivery and then followed it up with the wicket of KL Rahul that also came off an absolute jaffa. The pacer was named Player of the Match for his performance as it helped Pakistan defeat India in a World Cup game for the first time in 13 matches.

Now, as the two teams are once again gearing up to take on each other at the 2022 Asia Cup, the anticipation is higher as ever. India and Pakistan will lock horns against each other on 28 August at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. But both teams will miss their ace bowlers. While Pakistan will be without Shaheen Shah Afridi, India will be without Jasprit Bumrah.
With Afridi ruled out, Pakistan team fans are upset and are posting messages about the same. Former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis also posted about Shaheen missing the continental tournament. But Younis did not just post a plain message, he spiced it a bit by adding that the pacer’s absence will be a big relief for Indian batters.
“Shaheen’s injury Big relief for the Indian top order batsmen. Sad we won’t be seeing him in #AsiaCup2022 Get fit soon Champ @iShaheenAfridi,” tweeted Younis.
This tweet from Younis did not sit too well with the Indian fans as one of them replied, “Like Bumrah injury is a big relief for Pak top order. I mean you are such a sensible guy. At least talk sense. One victory and everyone loses mind, stay grounded. You are such a class act, don't give a childish statement.”
