Shooting is all set to make a comeback at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place in Victoria. The sport missed out during the recently held Birmingham Commonwealth Games due to logistical challenges but the Games Federation on Wednesday confirmed the return of shooting in the 22 sports list.

Notably, one big setback, especially for the India contingent comes after the Federation has decided to leave wrestling. The confirmed list of sports which features 22 games, missed wrestling.

Out of the 22 sports, nine will be included as fully integrated Para-sports. Golf, 3×3 Basketball, 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball, Coastal Rowing, Shooting, Para-shooting, BMX Racing, Mountain Bike Cross Country, Track Cycling and Para-track cycling will be there along with core sports, while Coastal Rowing, Golf, and BMX will make a Commonwealth Games debut.

In the recently concluded CWG 2022, India finished fourth on the medal tally with a total of 61 medals. The country won 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze medals to finish the 12-day event on a high.
