The Indian captain scored a solid half-century, while the 23-year-old remained unbeaten at 40 in 53 balls. Talking about this performance, Ramiz Raja posted a video on his YouTube channel and praised Gill for his batting style. Raja further compared the youngster to Rohit Sharma and cited how both these batters have a little extra time to face a delivery.

He said, “Shubman Gill looks like a mini-Rohit Sharma. He has extra time and looks good. He has enough potential. Aggression will also develop with time. He doesn’t need to change anything. He scored a double hundred recently.”

Ramiz Raja also complemented Rohit Sharma for his array of shots which helped India comfortably chase down a small total. “Batting was easy for India because they have an outstanding batter like Rohit Sharma. He plays exceedingly well. He is an amazing striker of hook-and-pull shots, so a 108-run chase becomes easy,” Raja added.

Going back to the game, this breezy chase was thanks to an incredible bowling display led by Mohammed Shami, who picked three wickets in six overs while giving away just 18 runs. Along with the West Bengal seamer, all other bowlers managed to pick up wickets. Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya bagged two scalps.

While Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Kuldeep Yadav picked one each. For the Kiwis, the top five combined to score 11 runs, while the lower-middle order comprising Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, and Micheal Bracewell managed to score in double digits. Phillips top-scored with 36 runs in 52 balls.
