As the world bid adieu to 2023, Indian opener Shubman Gill also took to social media to share his goals, he wrote exactly an year ago ahead of the start of 2023. The 24-year-old Gill shared a piece of paper which had new year resolutions written on it, dated December 31, 2022.  

The handwritten piece which included pointer like Orange Cap, World Cup, etc. has since then gone viral. The handwritten note also had most hundred for India as one of the points along with family’s happiness being an important point from his 2023 goals. “Exactly a year ago, I put it out into the universe. With 2023 coming to an end, the year has been full of experiences, some great fun and other great learnings. The end of the year didn’t go as planned, but I can proudly say we came ever so close to our goals, giving everything we had,” Shubman wrote sharing picture from both on and off the field from 2023.

Wishing for a prosperous year ahead, Gill further captioned, “The coming year brings its own challenges and opportunities. Hopefully, we’ll get closer to our goals in 2024. I hope all of you find love, joy, and strength in everything you do.”

Speaking of most centuries for India, Gill narrowly missed it, ending 2023 with seven tons to his name, while compatriot and batting great Virat Kohli finishing with eight centuries to his name. Moreover, Gill, finished as the Orange Cap holder in the IPL and ended the year achieving most of his goals.

The post went viral in minutes of Gill sharing on Instagram with his IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans also leaving a motivational comment on it. “onwards and upwards in 2024.”

The Indian youngster will don the captain’s hat for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL retention window in November 2023.
