In an explosive sting operation, Chetan Sharma, Chairman of All India Senior Selection Committee, has made some startling revelations involving two of the greatest Indian captains. Notably, Virat Kohli leaving the team’s captaincy in 2021 followed by speculated spat with then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was one of the most discussed events in the Indian cricket ecosystem.
In a fresh development, the chairman of the selection committee has been caught claiming that Virat Kohli considered him ‘bigger than the game and had an ego clash with then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly over.’ In an exclusive sting operation carried out by Zee Media, BCCI selector claimed that Virat Kohli was drunk in his own aura and was not giving much importance to the BCCI or BCCI president.
“I was present in the selection meeting. Kohli was clearly told by the BCCI president to re-think his decision to quit the T20I captaincy. We all told him to reconsider his decision. But he lied to the media when he said that he got no such suggestion from anyone in the board,” Mr. Sharma said.
He further claimed that Virat Kohli did the wrong thing by discussing the confidential meeting with the BCCI in a press conference ahead of the South Africa tour.
