In a surprising turn of events, Sourav Ganguly, the former India captain and BCCI President, has featured in an advertisement for the Netflix web series Khakee 2 in a police uniform. With that, the 52-year-old has sparked speculation of acting in the upcoming web series in a role of a police officer, but regardless, he has raised excitement for Khakee 2 on Netflix for sure.
Notably, the Netflix web series, which is named as Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is the sequel to the Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, features stars like Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee apart from Sourav Ganguly’s advertisement gig. As per the report from India Today, there is not much detail around whether or not Sourav Ganguly is playing a role in Khakee 2, it is certainly a new trajectory in his illustrious career.

It is reported that the advertisement of Netflix web series Khakee 2 has been produced by Sri Venkatesh Films, while the episodes have been produced by Friday Storytellers. Meanwhile, the Khakee: The Bengal Chapter has been created by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, and it’s trailer got released on March 5.
The Khakee 2 web series focuses on politics, police system, rivalries between gangs, which leads to thrilling action and surprising twists in every episode throughout the season. Moreover, while Sourav Ganguly’s involvement as an actor on the show isn’t confirmed, Rajkummar Rao is expected to play his role in his biopic, which could get released as early as 2026.
