Over 500 players from 18 countries have registered for the inaugural South African Twenty20 league (SA20) taking place from January 23 next year. The six teams participating in the SA20 will feature 17 players each as the auction is scheduled on September 19.

Each franchise in the SA20 can sign seven overseas players and 10 South African players , while teams can include seven local players and up to four foreign players in the Playing XI.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the Cricket South Africa holds the largest quota of players for the auction register by fielding around 250 players from the list of 533 players. Big players like  Eoin Morgan, Lendl Simmons, Dinesh Chandimal, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Ross Taylor, and Jimmy Neesham are included in the list.

England have fielded over 100 players, while West Indies have stationed over 50 players for the SA20 auctions register. On the other side, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Zimbabwe have sent 30, 25, and 10 players respectively. New Zealand,  Netherlands, Ireland, Canada, Oman, Scotland and Namibia are other countries to register their players for SA20 auction.

Players from the USA, Rwanda, Ireland, Sweden and Bermuda have also made themselves available for the auction while the auction register also features players from Australia, Bangladesh and UAE, which are the countries holding their respective franchise leagues alongside SA20 in January and February.  However, there are no players from Pakistan to register for the auction yet.

The SA20 released a statement over the Pakistani player, which stated, "Unless PCB gives consent, CSA won't put names of Pakistan players."
