After a pre-auction direct-acquisition process, the South African Twenty20 league (SA20) is heading towards player auction to finalise the franchise squads for the inaugural T20 league. Each of the six franchises are required to play 17 cricketers in their side including seven overseas and 10 South African players.

Just like the Indian Premier League (IPL), SA20 will feature four overseas players in each side during a match.

The franchises are allowed to have an overall purse of US$2 million to buy up to 17 players for their inaugural league. However, they have already bought 23 players in the pre-auction and the franchises will enter the auction with remaining pursue value.
