Barcelona central midfielder Ga vi is likely to sign a new contract with Barcelona as reports emerged on Tuesday that the Spanish teen sensation and the LaLiga club have agreed to all the terms mentioned in the new contract.
Gavi joined Barcelona youth academy from Real Betis in 2015 and was selected in the senior team in 2021 as a central midfielder. This season, Gavi has made five appearances for Barcelona in LaLiga while started on the bench in their UCL opener against Viktoria Plzen.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gavi has signed a new contract with Barcelona which is valid until June 2026. While the new contract offers increased salary to the 18-year-old central midfielder, the release clause is set to €1 billion.
Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal the new contract details between Gavi and FC Barcelona. He wrote, "Gavi signs new contract, here we go and confirmed! Full agreement now 100% completed with Barcelona. It’s done and sealed after breakthrough reported last week. 🚨🔵🔴 #FCB. New deal valid until June 2026. Salary will be increased. Release clause: €1B. Official soon."
Meanwhile, Barcelona will be heading towards the Allianz Arena for their UEFA Champions League 2022-23 group stage clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
