Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday, April 23 announced their 17-member squad for the upcoming tri-nation series, involving India and South Africa. It is to be noted that the three cricketing nations will lock horns in an ODI tri-nation series, set to be played from April 27 till May 11 in Colombo.

In a major change, the Lankan side has seen as many as eight changes to their ODI squad. While veteran all-rounder, Chamari Athapaththu will continue to lead the side, Malki Madara has received her maiden ODI call-up after impressing in her debut T20I series against New Zealand.

While Malki Madara is one of them, she will be joined by two more uncapped players, namely, Dewmi Vihanga and Piumi Badalge. The likes of Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi Silva, Hasini Perera, Piumi Wathsala, Dewmi Vihanga, Inoka Ranaweera and Hansima Karunaratne have also made their way back into the squad.

Speaking of the series, it is scheduled to start from Sunday, April 27 with the hosts locking horns with Harmanpreet Kaur-led India Women. All the matches will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo with the final scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 11.
