Rajasthan Royals dropped down to the second spot in the IPL 2023 standings after losing their match against Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. However, RR skipper Sanju Samson shared a winning rule with his squad in the dressing room after the match and stated that the hunger to win decides the result of the game.

Talking about the game, RR won the toss and opted to bowl first and picked two early wickets, however, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell combined for a 127-run partnership for the third wicket and eventually RCB posted 189 runs on the board. While chasing the target, the Royals also lost their first wicket in the first over as Jos Buttler departed for a duck, but Yashasvi Jaswal (47) and Devdutt Padikkal (52) took their team to a strong position. But the lower order failed to score big, except Dhruv Jurel, who scored an unbeaten 34 off 16 balls, and RR lost by seven runs.

After losing two back-to-back games by a small margin, Sanju Samson gave an inspiring peroration in the dressing room, which was shared by RR on social media. In the video, Samson talked about the winning formula and what it takes to be a winner in the IPL. He said, "I think it's very normal in this tournament when you have these couple of losses or you have those couple of wins, you go up and down. But the pattern and the style of our team, the style of our franchise is to stay humble when we're going high, and when we're going low, we believe in ourself, as simple as that."

He added, "We believe in each and every one of us, believe in yourself and there is no pointing fingers, that's the rule we need to follow. In my experience, what I've understood, the reason you end up on the losing or the winning side only is because how hungry are you there to win? How badly do you want it? Is it only because of you, is it only you want to do it or you want to do it for the team."

"I've been in this team for eight to 10 years, no one has played for their spots. We go in each and every time to do it for our team. So, I'd just like to remind that at this moment, we don't play for ourselves, we play for our team," he concluded.

Meanwhile, RR will next face MS Dhoni's CSK at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, April 27 in the IPL 2023. Currently, CSK are placed at the top with five wins in seven matches followed by RR with four wins in seven matches so far.
