Ahead of the 2022-23 season, a brutal fine list for Aston Villa players by head coach Steven Gerrard has been leaked. After banning the use of ketchup since his arrival, former Liverpool star has imposed fines on various mistakes including illegal parking, and forgetting cakes on birthday among others.
The 42-year-old England international replaced Dean Smith at the Villa Park in November 2019 and the coming season will be his first full season as in-charge at the Premier League club.
To maintain discipline and to keep a better hold of the players, the fine list is introduced by the football clubs and the rumoured fine list from Steven Gerrard shows that the Aston Villa players could experience brutal fines if they failed to follow the rules.
The leaked fine list also includes fine for players who were sent off during a match as they have to take the whole team out for a meal within the 4 weeks of the red card. The player who will be voted as the worst players during training before matchdays will have to wear 'I am the worst trainer' jumper for the whole next week in the training ground.
Apart from these fines, Gerrard has introduced some fines that will cost the players financially. Leaving plates, cups at the dining table could cost a player £100 an item, while if a player comes late for meeting on match day, they will be fined £1000.
Aston Villa are set to begin their Premier League 2022-23 campaign against Bournemouth in an away game on August 6.
