During the IPL 2024 auction, Lucknow Super Giants didn’t make any significant acquisitions, but they did bring in players like Ashton Turner, David Willey, Shivam Mavi, M Siddharth, M Arshad Khan, and Arshin Kulkarni into the mix. Just a few weeks ago, Mark Wood opted out of the IPL 2024, which led to LSG replacing him with the young rising sensation from the West Indies, Shamar Joseph.

Openers – KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk)
KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, didn’t have the best of IPL seasons with the bat last year before getting ruled out of the later stages of the tournament due to an injury, and he will be looking to make amends in the new year. Quinton de Kock wasn’t a regular feature in the IPL last season for LSG after arriving late to the tournament, which is something he will try to put behind him this time around.

Middle Order – Devdutt Padikkal, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran
Devdutt Padikkal moved to Lucknow Super Giants from Rajasthan Royals in a trade deal before the IPL 2024 auction, following his reasonably impressive performances with the bat in the early stages of his T20 franchise career. Deepak Hooda had a tough season with the bat and ball in the IPL last year for LSG, but since then, he has scored heaps of runs in the T20 format in domestic cricket, and he will be looking to replicate it in the new season.
Nicholas Pooran was in insane hitting form in the IPL last season, scoring more than 300 runs at an astonishing strike rate of over 170, to provide much-needed impetus time and again to the LSG batting innings.

All-rounders – Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya
Marcus Stoinis was one of the best batters for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL last year, scoring over 400 runs at a very good strike rate of 150, playing a key role for the franchise in reaching the playoff stage. Krunal Pandya was given the reins of LSG in the absence of KL Rahul, and his performances improved significantly with the bat and ball in the later stages of the IPL last season.

Bowlers – Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur
Ravi Bishnoi was one of the best bowlers for Lucknow Super Kings in the IPL last year, picking up regular wickets and curtailing the flow of runs at the same time. Mohsin Khan played a couple of matches for LSG after making his return from injury last IPL season, and he will be trying to bring his form from the year 2022 this time around.
The good performances of Naveen-ul-Haq for Lucknow Super Giants with the ball in the IPL last season were overshadowed due to his controversy with the former Indian captain, but after settling his issue with him, he will be looking to move forward this year. Yash Thakur was incredible with the ball in his first IPL season, picking up a bag of wickets for LSG at a decent economy.
