The inaugural edition of the International League T20 is all set to begin on 13 January with a match between Dubai Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. Meanwhile, MI Emirates will take on Sharjah Warriors in the second match of the T20 league. Kieron Pollard has been assigned captaincy duties for the Mumbai Indians-owned franchise. The likes of Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, and Andre Fletcher will also be playing for the Emirates.
As MI Emirates gear up for their opening fixture against the Warriors, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo paired up to produce a hilarious video. During Emirates’ training session, captain Pollard tried to take a dig at his teammate Dwane Bravo for wearing Jordan shoes during the training. Pollard said that the veteran bowler was “showing off”. Meanwhile, Bravo gave a savage reply.
“See this guy, watch out this (pointing to Jordan’s logo), this is Jumpman, Michael Jordan. He is playing cricket in a Michael Jordan. Style, fashion, and show off,” said Pollard. In reply, Bravo said, “Trophies. How many rings does Michael Jordan have? Six, the most. How many trophies Dwayne Bravo has? Sixteen, the most. Inspired by greatness, say no more!”
Coming back to the MI Emirates squad for the inaugural edition of ILT20, they have got some big names. Apart from West Indian firepower, Emirates have Will Smeed, Najibullah Zadran, and Samit Patel. In bowling, the Emirates have got Imran Tahir alongside Trent Boult.
