On Monday, May 5, the IPL 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) received a massive blow as their recent signing, Smaran Ravichandran was confirmed to miss the remaining IPL 2025 season due to an injury. It is to be noted that Smaran Ravichandran was roped in after Adam Zampa was confirmed to sit out for the remainder of the season.

The left-handed Karnataka batter, was signed for a sum of INR 30 Lakh by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), having played seven First-Class games and 10 List A matches and six T20s. However, Smaran did not get a game in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and will miss the season due to an injury.

“Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed Harsh Dubey as an injury replacement for Smaran Ravichandran for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Dubey, who is an all-rounder and plays for Vidarbha in Domestic Cricket, has 127 wickets and 941 runs against his name from 16 T20s, 20 List A and 18 First-Class matches he has played,” the statement of IPL read. The Vidarbha all-rounder will join SRH for INR 30 Lakh.

Speaking of the Pat Cummins-led side, SRH are currently placed ninth in the IPL 2025 standings, having won only three matches from the 10 games thus far. However, they are more or less out of the ongoing edition, a defeat will confirm their elimination from the tournament. They will next face the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, May 5.
