Team India have continued their unbeaten run in the Asia Cup 2022 after defeating Hong Kong on Wednesday by 40 runs. Indian batters Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav were in a great form as both scored half-centuries. However, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has opined that SKY should bat at number three instead of Kohli.

During India and Hong Kong match, a poll was contested about who should bat at number three for India and more than 70 per cent people picked Virat Kohli for the position. But, Gambhir had a different perspective and suggested Surya should move up the batting order and replace Kohli on number three.

Batting first, the Men in Blue put 192 runs on the scoreboard with sensational half-centuries from Virat Kohli (59) and Suryakumar Yadav's (68) bat. Indian opener Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul started the innings on a decent note but failed to score big as Rahul struggled to score at a high strike-rate.

Virat Kohli, who came at number three, played a responsible inning while number four batter Suryakumar Yadav smashed Hong Kong bowlers with ease. Both the players contributed in an unbeaten 98-run partnership for the third wicket. However, Gautam Gambhir believed that Surya should replace Kohli at number three considering his form.

Although, India won the match but their bowling attack was not up to the mark as Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh leaked 53 and 44 runs respectively in their four overs.
