In the 19th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Rajasthan Royal (RR) hosted the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. However, this time it was the home skipper who won the toss and invited the visitors to put the score first on the board.
However, it was the home team that came out victorious by six-wicket margin, courtesy an unbeaten century from Jos Buttler and a crucial 42-ball 69 from skipper Sanju Samson. But the RCB registered their third straight defeat in the ongoing IPL 2024, Virat Kohli grabbed the limelight for his eighth IPL ton.
Soon after RCB’s defeat, fans took to social media to unleash the memes, trolling the Bengaluru-based side, but the winner of the show was delivery giant Swiggy. Swiggy hilariously trolled RCB taking to X (formerly Twitter) with a meme with only crying emoji in the caption.
Albeit the team finished on the losing cause, Swiggy shared some words of praise for King Kohli. “Only kohli brings the “bang” in bangalore” the food delivery partner captioned the post on X.
Speaking of the match, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB posted 183/3 in their 20 overs, courtesy an unbeaten 113 from Virat Kohli and a crucial 44-run knock from Faf du Plessis. In pursuit of the 184-run target, RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal departed early on a two-ball duck, but a crucial second wicket partnership from Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson and an unbeaten ton from the England wicketkeeper-batter helped RR seal the win in 19.1 overs.
