Australia hasn’t had the best of the season so far in the T20 World Cup 2022. While the defending champions lost to New Zealand in their opening game, they beat the Asian champions Sri Lanka by 7 wickets to register their first win the tournament. Their winning run was again halted as the all-important game against England was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

But in their last match against Ireland ended in their way as the Aaron Finch-led side beat the Irish nation by 42 runs to go to the second place in Group 1 standings on Monday.

Although Finch stood strong to complete a half-century, he struggled to stay long as he sustained a hamstring injury. The 35-year-old although contributed with the bat scoring 63 runs, he limped off the field during the second innings of the match.

“Really a hammy twinge I think, I will get a scan tomorrow, I have a history of them. It doesn’t look bad at the moment but let’s see how it goes after the scan,” said the Australian skipper in the post-match presentation.

With scans results out, the Australian captain has confirmed that he won't play Australia's next game against Afghanistan on November 4. The two sides are set to meet on November 4, 2022 at the Adelaide Oval at 1:30 PM IST.
