Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, has been one of the finest tacticians in the shortest format of the game. The 35-year-old has been successful in leading India to 34 victories in 43 games with an impeccable winning percentage of 79.06. His composure and decision-making skills have been a key to the Men in Blue's performances in the T20I format.

However, Sharma has been a little inconsistent with the bat this year, which has been a cause of concern for the fans ahead of the T20 World Cup. In the recently concluded Australia series, he garnered 74 runs in three games. His latest outing witnessed him getting dismissed for a duck against South Africa in the 1st T20I on Wednesday, which put India under the pump in a low-scoring affair.

In this regard, the former England cricketer Graeme Swann thinks Sharma will turn the tables and score big in the T20 WC. Furthermor e, he reckoned that despite the Indian skipper's hot and cold form, the team has been consistent in posting strong totals on the board.

"Rohit is definitely the player who will get a hundred in the T20 World Cup, I have absolutely no doubt about it. I have no worries about Rohit Sharma he is the right man to lead and he has not been at his best form but India are consistently posting big scores," said Swann.

Swann further thinks that the broadcasters want the star Indian batter Virat Kohli to continue his rich form, otherwise TV ratings take a major hit with the fans getting disillusioned. It is evident that Kohli emerged as India's top scorer in the Asia Cup 2022 with 276 runs in five games.

The Indian T20I team will now be seen in action on Sunday (October 2) for the second game of the series against the Proteas. The whole T20 WC squad will depart on October 6 for Australia, while a second-string team will take part in the ODI series.
