As per the latest reports, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik will travel with the Indian team to Australia on October 6 for the T20 World Cup 2022. They are the possible backup players and net bowlers who could be added since Jasprit Bumrah has sustained a back stress fracture and is said to be unavailable for the next few months.

Bumrah complained of back pain ahead of the 1st T20I against South Africa on Wednesday (September 28) at  Thiruvananthapuram and did not feature in the game. He then underwent a scan in Bangalore, and the results are still awaited.

It is also known that Siraj replaced Bumrah for the remaining games of the T20I series. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah also provided an update on Bumrah's injury on Friday.

“Bumrah has sustained a back injury and is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team," said Jay Shah.
