After an entertaining opening two days of the T20 World Cup, the cricket world gears up towards another key fixture in Group A of the first round. Namibia and Netherlands are set to lock horns at the Simonds Stadium. Entering this fixture, the Namibians pulled off a massive upset against Sri Lanka while the Netherlands defeated UAE.

Pitch Report:

The pitch in Geelong has been supportive towards the batters but gradually slowed down into the second fixture.

Team Analysis:

The Namibians had a dominant performance against the reigning Asia Cup winner Sri Lanka. They posted a formidable 163 in the first innings and bundled out the Lankans for a score of 108. Their openers struggled but the middle order carried the team against a top-notch Sri Lankan bowling attack. Similarly, in the bowling Namibians had a dominant bowling performance with all bowlers baring the team captain picked up wickets.

The Dutch had a scrappy performance against the UAE as they pushed through to chase an easy target. Their bowling was top notch with Bas de Leede emerging on top with three wickets while giving away just 19 runs in three overs. Fred Klaassen also performed well as picked up two wickets and gave only 13 runs. But their batters weren’t that clinical as they failed to score big runs and chase down 112 comfortably.
