In a rain affected match, Pakistan registered yet another thrilling victory over South Africa on November 3 (Thursday) at Sydney Cricket Ground. While chasing 185, South Africa had a shaky start as Quinton de Kock returned to the pavilion without scoring a single run but valuable knock from the skipper Temba Bavuma (36 off 19), Aiden Markram (20 off 14) and Heinrich Klaasen (15 off 9) kept the proteas in the game.

But Pakistan bowlers had a great day as they kept giving blows to the South Africa and made their run chase difficult than it was expected. Pakistan premium pacer Shaeen Afridi who was amid heavy criticism for his form in the tournament bagged his best figures in the current edition as he picked three wickets in his three over spell and conceded just 14-runs.

Shadab Khan delivered an all-round performance in the game - scoring 52 off 22 and taking two wickets - was adjudged Player of the Match for his incredible performance.  With that win, Pakistan has climbed to the third spot in the points table of the Group 2 and they need to win against Bangladesh with a huge margin and hope for few upsets to make it to semi-final.
