Team India players reach Mohali for first T20I against Australia; pictures surface online

The series will have significant attention as India are looking to test their players ahead of the biennial event in Australia.

India is all set to host Australia for a three-match T20I series starting from September 20. The two teams will battle it out in the shortest format before the T20 World Cup takes place in Australia. The two teams have arrived in Mohali for the first T20I. While Team Australia arrived at the match venue a couple of days ago, Team India reached Mohali on Saturday. 

Star Indian batter Virat Kohli and other members of Team India arrived at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Saturday ahead of the first T20I match against Australia. Along with Kohli, players like Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, captain Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Harshal Patel arrived at the venue. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid also reached along with his players.

Meanwhile, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) took to Instagram for sharing pictures of Aussie players sweating it out in the nets. Star batter Steve Smith, bowlers Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and skipper Aaron Finch were among the players practising to be at top of their skill-set ahead of the first T20I match in challenging subcontinent conditions.

The series will have significant attention as India are looking to test their players ahead of the biennial event in Australia. All eyes will also be on Virat Kohli as the star batter as he regained his touch. Kohli scored 276 runs in five matches at an average of 92.00 with one century and two half-centuries in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have made their return to India‚Äôs T20I squad and it is to be seen how well they bowl after recovering from their respective injuries. 

Notably, the three T20Is will take place on 20, 23, and 25 September in Mohali, Nagpur, and Hyderabad.
