Suryakumar Yadav has become a batting sensation ever since he made his debut for India. The 32-year-old batter from Maharashtra is probably India’s or even one of the world’s best batters in T20I cricket at the moment. The right-handed batter has an array of shots that only he can play and that too with so much ease. Every time Yadav comes out to bat, there is a sense of urgency in the opposition camp the reason being the batter’s consistency to find boundaries.

Suryakumar Yadav aka SKY showed it to the world once again on Sunday (25 September) that he is a match-winner. The batter played a fantabulous knock of 69 (36) and powered India to a six-wicket victory against Australia in the series decider. His century partnership with Virat Kohli was just a delight to watch. With his audacious shots, Surya has left everyone in awe of his batting.

Former South Africa pacer Vernon Philander is among those people who are just awestruck with SKY’s batting. The former Proteas cricketer shared a tweet for Yadav after his heroics on Sunday. “This kid can play. Wow exciting to watch. @surya_14kumar” tweeted Philander. While it seems, Philander had no other intentions than showering praise on the batter, his choice of words did not help the cause.

Addressing a 32-year-old man as a kid did not sit too well with Suryakumar’s fans as they reminded Philander of the batter’s age. “The kid is only 5 years younger than you,” replied one user on Philander’s tweet. “Sir he is new to international cricket.. doesn't mean he is a kid.. he is 32 years old FYI .. :)” replied another.
