A lot of footballers switched teams in the recently-concluded summer transfer window. While some players renewed their contracts, others found new home in form of new club. However, one player who did not have his future sorted out was Manchester United's midfielder Paul Pogba. The 28-year-old, whose contract expires in June 2022, was expected to either leave the Red Devils or sign a new contract with the club but things did not really go according to the plan.
It has been quite a roller-coaster ride for Pogba in his second spell at the club. From off-the-field issues with former Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho to fans losing patience with the player, it has been quite a topsy-turvy journey for the French international, who was a part of the 2018 World Cup-winning team. Unfortunately, he hasn't had much success with Man Utd in terms of titles, having only won League Cup and Europa League since re-joining the club in 2016.
Paul still loves Turin and this is something really important to him: Raiola
With so much uncertainty around his future, Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has finally broken silence in a conversation with Rai Sport. He said, "Paul Pogba is out of contract in June, so we’ll talk with Manchester United and we’ll see what happens for his future”.
The super agent also did not rule out the possibility of Pogba going back to Italy where he actually became one of the best midfielders in the world. “Juventus comeback? Paul still loves Turin and this is something really important to him. There’s a chance that Pogba will return to Juventus, yes - but it also depends on Juve plans”, said Raiola.
Man Utd expected to reach agreement with Pogba over new contract
Paul Pogba has got off to a brilliant start this season, having already registered 7 assists in 4 Premier League matches. The 28-year-old is finally looking like his old self once again and is looking very lethal in midfield alongside Bruno Fernandes.
As per reports, Man Utd are expected to offer a new contract as per the demands of his player and agent and an agreement is expected to be reached very soon. The Red Devils' fans would certainly hope that Pogba puts pen to paper as soon as possible, to prevent any kind of possibilities of other top clubs entering the race to secure his services.
