Thiago Seyboth Wild’s agent once threatened a journalist after a journalist asked him questions about his domestic violence allegations. He won one of the biggest matches of his career, when he defeated Rome Masters champion Daniil Medvedev 7-6(5), 6-7(6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the French Open 2023. However, at the post-match conference, when he was asked a question about a domestic violence allegation, the Brazilian tennis player seemed to be angry and refused to comment on the question.
Seyboth Wild was accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend Thayane Lima, and post his win at the clay-court tournament, the news began to resurface, which wasn’t taken kindly by the tennis fans. After his win, a tennis writer revealed that a fellow journalist was once threatened by the Brazilian when he asked questions about the domestic violence allegations made against him. In a shocking tweet, the journalist revealed, “Sad to report that @schnejan told me he was threatened after asking Thiago Wild a question about the denounce for domestic violence against his ex. A man who is an allegedly Octagon agent tried to take a picture of his accreditation. After Jannik refused, the man apologised."
When the journalist was asked to elaborate, what specific threat he was referring to, he said that the writer was threatened for asking the Wild about his allegations. He added, "Jannik adds that the agent was very upset and said that he wanted to remember him. Firstly, he came to his direction without saying anything, asking for the accreditation. Old story, it’s all in the hand of law” were his last words before asking why Jannik asked the question.”
Notably, in September 2011, Seyboth’s girlfriend made shocking revelations about the tennis star being engaged in physical and psychological abuse against her. However, Thiago denied all the allegations and called them ‘defamatory and libellous practices.’ Post these allegations, a restraining order was passed against the tennis star for seeing his ex-girlfriend.
