India's 8-wicket loss to New Zealand on Sunday has taken them out the true contention for the semi-final spot. This is because now India would be needing some miracles apart from winning rest of their games to advance to the next stage. While many lambasted the Men in Blue for their performance at the ongoing mega event, some also came out in their support calling that they are simply having a bad time.
Amidst all the criticism, Pakistan's top-order batter Azhar Ali has said that the early exit of India won't be good for the tournament. He added that everybody wants India to stay in the mega event. Azhar took to Twitter on Monday to express his opinion. "It’s not looking good for India.. but we all want India to stay in the tournament. This early exit of India won’t be good for the event #INDvsNZ #ICCT20WorldCup," he wrote.
Notably, Azhar Ali is not the first Pakistan cricketer to comment after Team India's loss to the Kiwis. Earlier, the likes of Mohammad Amir and Shoaib Akhtar also commented. While Amir slammed the trolls who abused the families of the Indian players, the Rawalpindi Express had question the game plan of the Men in Blue.
"I still believe India is a best team its just a matter of having good time or bad time but abusing player's and their family is such a shame don't forget end of the day it's just a game of cricket," said Amir on Twitter.
India's poor run in T20 World Cup 2021
Notably, India are still winless in the ongoing competition. They had lost their campaign opener at the T20 World Cup 2021 to Pakistan by 10 wickets on October 24 before suffering a similar embarrassing defeat at the hands of Kane Williamson and company.
Talking about the game on last Sunday, New Zealand won every single moment on the field to completely dominate the game. They invited India to bat first and restricted them to 110/7 in 20 overs, before their batters made mockery of the total. Riding on Daryl Mitchell's 49 off 35, New Zealand reached home with 8 wickets in hand and 33 balls to spare. Earlier, Trent Boult/s 3/20 and Ish Sodhi's 2/17 had played a huge role in limiting India to a paltry total.
