India's weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga won the second gold medal for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022 after Mirabai Chanu as the 67 kg category weightlifter made a combined lift of record-breaking 300 kg.

The 19-year-old weightlifter credited his gold medal success to the whole country for their massive support. The CWG 2022 gold medal winner took to his official Twitter account and acknowledged his country for moral support.

Jeremy tweeted, "Lifting three tons over my shoulder wouldn’t have been possible without the strength of my nation backing me. ?️‍♂️ This is gold is just the beginning."

Jeremy Lalrinnunga told NDTV, "I am feeling very happy but I'm not satisfied with my performance. I had a slight cramp in my muscle so I couldn't perform as I thought in Clean and Jerk. What ever I did in Clean and Jerk and I don't know how heavy was the weight."

"I cried a lot after lifting. I'm not happy with 300kg as I had worked a lot for the games but these things happen in sport. But I am happy that I won the gold. I couldn't give my best but I am happy that I broke the record," he added.
