It was a Super Sunday for Indian fans as the India finally added another medal to its tally while the India Men's Hockey team entered Semi-Finals of Olympics after 41 years of wait by beating Great Britain 3-1. Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu won the bronze medal in Women's badminton singles at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Sindhu defeated China's He Bingjiao 21-13, 21-15 in the Bronze medal match.

Boxer Satish Kumar loses in Men's boxing heavyweight quarterfinals

Indian boxer Satish Kumar lost in the Men's Boxing Heavyweight quarterfinals at the Tokyo Olympics. Satish was playing against Uzbekistan's world number one Bakhodir Javolov. The judges gave a unanimous 5-0 decision in Javolov's favour. Notably, India's Satish Kumar received seven stitches ahead of the match and was only given a green signal to fight a few hours before the bout. Earlier, Kumar had come into the quarterfinals after defeating Ricardo Brown.

Sindhu beats He Bingjiao 21-13, 21-15 in bronze medal match

PV Sindhu entered the history books as she became only the second-ever Indian athlete to win two individual Olympic medals. Sindhu looked in good form as she kept coming at the Chinese right from start. The Indian used her height to full advantage and kept smashing hard. Notably, Sindhu had lost her semifinal clash against Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying yesterday.

India through to semis in men's hockey

India Men's Hockey team entered Semi-Finals of Olympics after 41 years of wait by beating Great Britain 3-1. After an exciting start to the game, India broke the deadlock as Dilpreet Singh opened the scoring. Gurjant doubled India's advantage to put India in control. However, Great Britain fought back hard and got a flurry of penalty corners towards the end of third quarter and they eventually scored on the third one. But Hardik scored a stunning solo goal on the counter-attack in the 57th minute to seal a 3-1 win for India.

India will now take on Belgium in the semi-finals. The match is scheduled to take place on August 3, Tuesday at 7 AM IST.

Fouaad Mirza slips to 22nd Position in eventing

Indian equestrian Fouaad Mirza slipped down to 22nd position (39.2 penalty points overall) after facing a technical issue during cross-country round in individual eventing.
