Day 15 proved to be a historic day for India as 23-year-old Neeraj Chopra created history by securing India’s 1st gold medal at Tokyo Olympics. Not only that, wrestler Bajrang Punia also secured a fourth bronze medal for India. Having obtained 7 medal in Tokyo, this is India’s best ever medal tally in the Olympic games since inception.
Apart from that, USA inched closer to China having won 4 gold medal on August 7. With this the former contingent is only 2 gold medals behind leader China. USA are followed by Japan in the third position with a tally of 27 gold medals. After which ROC were able to snatch the fourth place from Great Britain courtesy to four more silver medals.
