If you thought Day 5 of the Tokyo Paralympic Summer 2020 was India’s best, then prepare to amaze yourself as the Indian athletes re-wrote the pages of sporting history by securing 5 medals on Day 6 including 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze. Starting with 19-years-old shooter Avani Lekhara equalizing the world record to clinch the gold medal. Sumit Antil then shattered the world record three times on his way to Gold Medal in Javelin Throw to stun the world.

On one hand where India reached its historic best 26th position, China extended their lead at the top of the medal tally by registering 54 gold medals by the end of Day 6 of the Tokyo Paralympic 2020 Games. China’s tally of gold medals is twice more than the contingent which is coming second, Great Britain with 26 gold medals.
