The Champions Trophy will return after eight years with its 2025 edition primarily hosted by the defending champions Pakistan. India, the two-time title winners, will play their three group matches at the iconic Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Virender Sehwag was known for his explosive batting style and back in the 2002 Champions Trophy match between India and England in Colombo, former India opener took the English team’s bowling attack to the cleaners. After winning the toss, England batted first and posted a quality total of 269 runs on the board, with the loss of seven wickets. Ian Blackwell became the highest run-scorer for England with his impressive 82 off 68. However, Sehwag’s batting belligerence made India’s task a lot easier as they chased down the target in just 39.3 overs. The opener racked up 126 off just 104 and received the Player of the Match (POTM) award for his phenomenal performance.
