Hugo Lloris is unlikely to play for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to miss the rest of the Premier League 2022-23 season again this season after suffering a thigh injury. The French goalkeeper limped off the field in the second half after conceding five times in the opening 21 minutes against Newcastle United. Spurs lost 6-1 against Newcastle and then he missed the matches against Manchester United and Liverpool. Back-up goalkeeper Fraser Foster has filled his shoes in the starting 11.

The 6-1 drubbing against Newcastle could also prove to be the 38-year-old’s last game for the club as there are multiple reports which say that the World Cup winner is looking for a new team this summer. Lloris still has a year left to run on his Spurs contract, but he is likely to leave and the club is now linked with Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, and Napoli goalie Alex Meret.

Lloris has had an honourable career with Spurs as he is the club’s record appearance-holder in the Premier League and has been with Tottenham for a decade. Tottenham are also set to be without wing-back Ryan Sessegnon for the rest of the season as he is out with a hamstring injury.

Tottenham have dropped off to seventh in the Premier League table and they will have to step up in the last five games of the season if they are to secure European football. They will face Crystal Palace on Saturday, May 6.
