The wicket of Shashank Singh, one of the in-form batters for Punjab Kings all season, proved to be vital for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in putting the breaks on the scoring rate of Punjab Kings. With a few overs after his dismissal, the RCB bowlers ran through the lower order of PBKS, bundling them out for 181 in 17 overs, winning the match by 60 runs.
The win for Royal Challengers Bengaluru meant they kept themselves alive in the race for the IPL 2024 playoffs, while Punjab Kings got eliminated from the race.
