Afghanistan bowler Naveen-ul-Haq, who represents Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League grabbed the spotlight after he engaged in a verbal spat with the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli during the LSG vs RCB clash that took place on May 1, Thursday at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. Nobody could really understand what actually happened and as several incidents kept unfolding, the entire show turned out to be ugly. While the social media has divided based on opinions, an old clip has recently surfaced where Naveen-ul-Haq could be seen arguing with Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera.

In an old video, the Afghan cricketer can be seen intervening Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera at the non-striker’s end while Perera was trying to take another run during one of the matches of the Sri Lanka Premier League. As Perera reached the non-striker’s end, Naveen intervened, causing distraction. The former didn’t like it, which flared up some tension between them. While both the players were about to engage in a verbal spat, the umpire quickly intervened calming the things down. The video has been doing rounds on social media, where people are saying that Naveen has the habit of making scenes on the ground.

Notably, the verbal argument between Naveen and Kohli got extended to post-match presentation, where the LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir intervened and took a stand for Naveen. However, this didn’t go well and Gambhir got into a verbal spat with Kohli. The BCCI has issued them with 100 per cent of their match fee, while the LSG pacer has been charged with 50 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.
