In the opening clash between teams Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, brothers Sam Curran and Tom Curran went head-to-head against each other and it has to be said that the former got the better of his elder brother by a mile. Bowling the 19th over for DC, Tom Curran was given the ball with Sam Curran at the crease, but little did anyone know, regarding the havoc about to be caused.
A score of 170 would have been just above par until and unless Sam and Ravindra Jadeja managed to smash either Chris Woakes or Tom Curran in the last two overs. However, Tom conceded 23 runs in the second last over, giving the entire control of the innings to CSK, who headed into the last over to finish on a high. After this thrashing, Twitterati couldn’t resist but appreciate Sam on coming on top of this battle with elder brother Tom.
6,6,4: Sam's brutal attack on Tom
Sam began by hitting a full toss over long on for a six before hammering the next ball, which was a bouncer for another half-a-dozen. He did not finish and slammed Tom for a cracking cover drive to collect another 4 runs in the penultimate delivery of the over. In total having faced 4 balls off Tom and got 17 runs for CSK. He managed to post a 51-run partnership along with Ravindra Jadeja for the 7th wicket.
Here is how fans reacted to it:
After that, Chris Woakes bowled his 3rd over at the death and got the better of Sam on the very last ball of the innings. CSK posted a strong total of 188 runs in 20 overs, which clearly seemed to be a competitive score. Apart from this, the much-awaited return of MS Dhoni ended in sheer disappointment as he got bowled out for a two-ball duck on the delivery of Avesh Khan.
