Making his debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous edition, Devdutt Padikkal earned a lot of praise for himself by becoming the leading run scorer by outracing Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers in 2020. However, after an early slump, Padikkal rose to his very best by scoring his maiden IPL century to stamp his authority on each and every Rajasthan Royal bowler in Match 16 of IPL 2021.

Having a tough target of 178 runs to chase, both RCB openers Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal scored 72* and 101* runs, respectively, to earn a 10-wicket victory. It is not always the case that Virat Kohli’s half century knock has a secondary role to play. Padikkal was phenomenal ever since he started being the aggressor early on in the innings to complete the chase in just the 17th over of the game.

With Devdutt Padikkal blistering against RR, Twitterati could not hold back their excitement as they showered praises on the 20-year-old.
