When agony was spread all across India courtesy to the reckless second wave of coronavirus, the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League was also caught in its clutches. With multiple COVID cases in the franchise camps, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to immediately halt the proceedings of the cash-rich league mid-way.

However in July, it was announced that the remainder of the 2021 edition will be played in UAE just before the T20 World Cup. Moreover, with September 19 locked as the date to resume the most celebrated cricketing league, Twitterati seem to not be able to maintain their calm as the countdown to IPL 2021 gets underway.

With just 31 days left, the first match to resume the cricketing festivity will feature MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings locking horns with the defending champions Mumbai Indians in Dubai.

Check out how Twitter reacted to IPL 2021 countdown:

In all there will be 13 matches hosted in Dubai, 8 in Abu Dhabi and 10 in Sharjah. In addition, there will be 7 double headers. Not only this, the IPL 2021 will be a perfect platform for all the players to know the pitches and grounds in UAE before the start of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup.

Futhermore, the absence of several overseas players could prove to be a blessing in disguise for the Indian domestic players. The obligation will be on the lesser known players to make a mark for themselves.

In conclusion, with appropriate measure taken in UAE since the very beginning, it seems like cricketing fanatics all over the world are all set to be overwhelmed by the festivity brought by the Indian Premier League.
