AC Milan and Inter Milan will meet in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final at the San Siro stadium on Wednesday night. AC Milan beat Serie A winners Napoli in the quarterfinals while Inter Milan defeated Benfica to reach the semi-finals. Since the two teams share a stadium it is seen as the shortest travel to an away game in Europe.
Inter Milan are in great form coming into this important semi-final as they have won five consecutive games in all competitions. The Simone Inzhagi-led side have scored for fun in the past few games while conceding minimal goals. In their last five games in all competitions, Inter have scored 15 goals while conceding only one. Even though they have underperformed in the league the Nerrazuri are not a team to be taken lightly in the Champions League.
AC Milan have a similar story this season as they have overcome their bad patch and have been in great form in recent weeks as the last time the Pioli-led side lost was in March against Udinese. They won their last game against Lazio in the league 2-0. The Rossoneri have conceded just once in their last six matches in the Champions League and Pioli has certainly tightened the defense as they have conceded just three goals in their last five matches in all competitions.
