Featherweight fighter Bryce Mitchell, who suffered from a hand injury last October is eying his possible return to the octagon in January 2022. After enduring a nasty hand injury, the 26-year-old required instant rest and rightly called time-off from the fast paced MMA action. Holding a stellar record of 5-0 in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) so far, Bryce Mitchell is all set to step into the octagon once again after recovering from his spoken about injury, as told by his manager Matt Weibel of First Round Management to the media.
In his last appearance under UFC, 11th placed Mitchell got the better of Andre Fili via unanimous decision. However as the American professional is on the lookout for a fight, there seems to be no opponent who could be slated against him currently, especially knowing the busy schedule of UFC for the remaining year. As a result of which, Weibel and Mitchell are both eyeing a fight in January 2022.
Bryce Mitchell made his UFC debut in 2018, after which his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skill-sets and moves have gained popularity and a huge fan base. In his short yet impressive UFC stint, Mitchell has only been entitled to one finish (Matt Sayles – Submission).
Talking about his overall fighting result Bryce Mitchell stands at 14-0, wherein 9 wins have come via submission. There is no denying that the featherweight fighter can cause a huge stir in the division if he is able to fetch some wins against his name. Yet fight fans have witnessed how significantly professionals have lost their form after coming back into the octagon after injuries.
Having said that, with the likes of Dan Ige, Giga Chikadze and Edson Barboza placed in front of Mitchell in the featherweight division, it is most likely that the 26-year-old will contest in fights against these fighters first in order to claim a place higher up the division. Especially after knowing that ‘Thug Nasty’ could be brutal since the start of the fight, he could very well be on the verge of being called upon a short-notice, if any featherweight fighter cancels upon his scheduled bout.
