UP Warriorz owner Jinisha Sharma and team captain Deepti Sharma cordially invited the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh; Yogi Adityanath to their upcoming games in the Women’s Premier League. The next four matches in the WPL, from matchday 15 to matchday 18 will be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium Lucknow. Out of these 4 matches. 3 will be played by the home team UP Warriorz against Gujrat Giants, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The team owner Jinisha Sharma said "It would be a special moment for us to host him for our games and our confident that the team would make him and the state of Uttar Pradesh proud," in a press release.
UP Warriorz still fighting for an eliminator spot
UP Warriorz lost their last match against Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and are currently placed 4th in the table with just four wins. Out of the 5 matches they have played till now, they have been able to get 2 wins. Their bowler Grace Harris has the best bowling figures in this season so far with 4/15 in 2.3 overs in UP Warriorz’s match against Delhi Capitals.
With three matches yet to be played in this year’s campaign for the Warriorz, the team will look to capitalise on the home advantage they have for the upcoming matches and place their team into a position to at least reach the eliminator round of this year’s WPL. They will be hoping that with the crowd support at the Lucknow stadium, the team can produce good results.
