There is still no clarity on Novak Djokovic's participation in the US Open. While the final grand slam of the year is just around the corner, it is his unvaccinated status against COVID-19 that has made his presence in the tournament doubtful. Notably, Djokovic had already missed the season-opening Australian Open 2022 as he chose not to vaccinate himself against Coronavirus.
And now adding to the speculation is the major hint from his official website.  Although Novak's official website is usually among the first ones to show which fixtures he will be part of, days before the start of the final major of the year, it has no information. Moreover, upon clicking the schedule the one-line message which is being displayed might come across as horror news for some of the fans of the Serb. It says: "There are no scheduled events at the moment."

With US Open scheduled for an August 29 start, it seems like Djokovic won't feature in the competition. This is set to be a huge blow given that the World number 6 had been in great form and won the Wimbledon this year to add to extend to Grand Slam titles to 21. While this would have been a perfect opportunity to draw level with Rafael Nadal who has a record 22 titles to his credit, seems like his wait would be a long one.
