One of the biggest tournaments in the game of tennis, the US Open 2023, is slated to be hosted from August 28 to September 10. The hardcourt tennis tournament will be played across different categories, which are men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles and wheelchair category.

Last year, the US Open declared a payout of USD 2.6 million payout to each of the winners in both men’s and women’s singles events, respectively. Not only this, but the organisers also announced that the total prize pool, across all the categories, will be USD 60.1 million. In 2023, the prize money is expected to go up; however, an official announcement is still awaited.

The US Open is undoubtedly the highest paying Grand Slam followed by Wimbledon, and even if the prize money is expected to go up by 5 per cent, the total prize money will go over USD 63 million. The 2022 men’s singles winner Carlos Alcaraz and women’s singles winner World No. 1, Iga Swiatek took home USD 2.6 million. The amount given to them was a four-percent increase of what Daniil Medvedev received after he won the 2021 title.
In the doubles' category, the respective winners of men’s and women’s doubles got USD 688,000, which was 4.4 per cent more than what the 2021 winners had got. Speaking of the prize money the winners are expected to get in 2023, they can get USD 2,700,000, with runners up getting USD 1,350,000. In addition to this, the semifinalists are likely to get USD 735,000 in the 2023 edition of the Grand Slam.
